Yes. All NYC SST cards expire every 5 years. You must complete the appropriate refresher course within 12 months before — or after — your expiration date to avoid losing your right to work.
If your card has been expired for less than 12 months, you can still complete just the refresher course. If expired more than 12 months, the NYC DOB may require you to retake the full original training bundle.

No. You do not need to retake the full OSHA 30. Worker SST renewal requires only 8 hours; Supervisor SST renewal requires 16 hours of refresher training.
